Payment Options

• Payment Methods and Instructions – Payments may be made using debit or credit cards, and wire transfers. Students can make payments online through the Hesed University student portal. For any questions regarding payment, please email studentfinance@hesed.education.
• Wire Transfers – Domestic and international wire transfer information can be obtained by contacting the Student Finance Office at studentfinance@hesed.education.
• Checks – Checks are accepted via mail and must be in US currency, made payable to Hesed University. Please include the student name and ID on the check.

Any check returned as unpaid will result in a returned check fee being added to the student’s account.

Installment Payment Plan

Hesed University supports students in budgeting for their education by offering an equal and interest-free installment payment plan. The available options include:

• Three-month plan: Available for fall, winter, and spring terms.
• Two-month plan: Available for summer term.

A $25 non-refundable fee will be charged upon sign-up for the installment payment plan. If a student fails to pay the first installment, their installment plan will be terminated, and the remaining balance will be due immediately.

Delinquent Accounts

All financial obligations must be paid on or before the due date. Accounts are considered delinquent the day after the due date. Students are responsible for keeping their accounts current. In the case of delinquent accounts, the following actions may be taken:

• A $75 late payment fee will be applied.
• Registration for subsequent terms will be restricted.
• Access to final grades and academic transcripts will be withheld.

Student Account Disputes

For any disputes concerning student accounts, students should contact the Business Office by emailing studentfinance@hesed.education.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Student’s Right to Cancel

Students have the right to cancel their enrollment agreement within seven days, until midnight of the seventh day, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, after signing the agreement. Students who cancel during this period will receive a refund of all monies paid, excluding the non-refundable application fee.

Students will receive 100 percent of the institutional charges paid, less the application fee, which will not exceed $250, if cancellation occurs either:

• Before attending the first class session, or
• By the seventh day after enrollment, whichever is later.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via verified email or hand-delivered to the Registrar’s Office. Cancellation is effective as of the date the written notice is sent. A withdrawal may also be initiated by the student’s conduct, such as lack of participation in the course.

Refund Policy

Students officially withdrawing or taking a leave of absence may qualify for a partial or full tuition refund. However, all other fees, excluding tuition, are non-refundable, and a $15 drop fee will be applied per dropped course. Refunds are calculated based on the student’s total institutional charges at the time of withdrawal, not on the amount paid.

To initiate a refund, students must complete and submit a Student Withdrawal Form or Leave of Absence Form to the Registrar’s Office. Refunds are processed within 30 calendar days of receiving the official withdrawal or leave notice.

For record-keeping purposes, a refund form will be maintained in the student’s file, regardless of whether a refund is issued.

Refund Schedule

For Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer terms:

1. 100% Refund – Withdrawal or approved leave of absence before the end of the first week.
2. Partial Refund – Withdrawal or approved leave of absence after the first week and before 60% of the course is completed.
3. No Refund – Withdrawal or approved leave of absence after 60% of the course is completed.

Partial Refund Calculation Formula

Tuition refunds are calculated as follows:

Example: A student withdraws after completing 2 weeks of a 10-week course, or 20% of the term.

• Tuition Paid: $2,184
• Refund Percentage: 80% (100% – 20%)
• Refund: 0.80 × 2,184 = $1,747
• Drop Fee: $15 per course × 2 courses = $30
• Total Refund: $1,747 – $30 = $1,717

Loans

Students who use loans to pay for their education are responsible for repaying the full loan amount plus any accrued interest, less any refunds issued.

Bankruptcy

Educational and related fees are generally non-dischargeable in bankruptcy. Students will remain responsible for unpaid debts to Hesed University even after a bankruptcy case is closed.

Hesed University does not have any current or past bankruptcy petitions within the preceding five years and is not operating as a debtor in possession under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.

Scholarship

Hesed University is committed to making education accessible and affordable for students dedicated to their academic goals and personal growth. Scholarships aim to remove financial barriers, attract diverse talent, and support students who align with Hesed University’s values and mission.

Application Process and Forms

1. Scholarship Announcement – The Student Finance Office announces the opening of scholarship applications 21–30 days before the deadline for current students and informs new applicants during the program application process.
2. Scholarship Application Submission – Students must complete the scholarship application form and submit all required documents by the stated deadline. Forms are available on Hesed University’s website.
3. Application Review – The Student Finance Office ensures all eligibility requirements are met and that submissions are complete.
4. Selection Process – The Scholarship Committee, including academic deans and finance representatives, selects recipients based on criteria such as academic performance, financial need, and community engagement.
5. Notification – Award recipients are notified by email, and scholarships are applied to their accounts. Students who are not awarded scholarships will receive email notifications at least 21 days before the payment deadline.

Counseling and Support

The Financial Aid Office provides counseling services for students to:

• Discuss scholarship opportunities and eligibility.
• Explain the application and renewal process.
• Review financial planning and payment strategies.

Additionally, the office conducts quarterly orientations covering topics like:

• Tuition and fees.
• Payment plans and deadlines.
• Financial aid policies, including cancellation and refund procedures.

Types of Scholarships

Missionary Scholarship

This fund is established to support Hesed University students who are actively involved in full-time service with OA churches or the World Olivet Assembly mission organizations. The scholarship prioritizes students who demonstrate commitment to both their academic pursuits and missionary work, especially those who aim to use their degree in Architecture or Graphic Design to serve and impact communities in their home countries and beyond.

Award

The scholarship is distributed in the form of a tuition scholarship. The maximum allowance covers 100 percent of tuition costs. The award does not cover fees. The scholarship is applied per quarter as long as the student maintains the scholarship requirements.

Conditions for Eligibility

• Must be accepted into one of Hesed University’s degree programs, Architecture or Graphic Design.
• Must be actively serving full-time with an OA church or World Olivet Assembly mission organization.
• Must demonstrate financial need.

Conditions for Renewal

• Scholarship recipients must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA for graduate students and a 2.0 GPA for undergraduate students.
• Recipients must not have an NP grade in any required courses related to Chapel, Christian Service, or similar areas, if applicable.
• Recipients must abide by all university policies.
• Recipients must remain actively involved in OA churches or World Olivet Assembly mission work.
• Recipients must continue to demonstrate financial need.

General Scholarship

General scholarships are available to students who do not meet the criteria for the specific scholarships listed above. These scholarships are awarded quarterly based on financial need and academic standing.

Award

Scholarships are distributed as tuition assistance, covering up to 100% of tuition fees. The award does not cover fees and will be applied quarterly as long as the student meets the renewal requirements.

Conditions for Eligibility

• Students must be accepted into a Hesed University degree program based on admissions criteria.
• Students must be active members of an OA church or World Olivet Assembly mission organization.
• Students must demonstrate financial need.

Conditions for Renewal

• Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 for graduate students and 2.0 for undergraduate students.
• Recipients must not have an NP grade in any courses related to religious or service work.
• Recipients must comply with university policies.
• Recipients must remain actively involved in OA churches or World Olivet Assembly mission work.
• Recipients must continue to demonstrate financial need.

Missionary Children Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to support children of full-time missionaries actively serving with OA churches or World Olivet Assembly mission organizations. The scholarship recognizes the dedication of missionary families and aims to empower their children to pursue higher education in Architecture or Graphic Design, equipping them with skills to serve their communities effectively.

Award

The scholarship is distributed in the form of a tuition scholarship, with a maximum allowance covering 100 percent of tuition costs. The award does not cover fees. The scholarship is applied per quarter as long as the student maintains the scholarship requirements.

Conditions for Eligibility

• Must be accepted into one of Hesed University’s degree programs, Architecture or Graphic Design.
• Must provide proof of being the child of a full-time missionary serving with an OA church or World Olivet Assembly mission organization.
• Students must be active members of an OA church or World Olivet Assembly mission organization.
• Must demonstrate financial need.

Conditions for Renewal

• Scholarship recipients must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA for graduate students and a 2.0 GPA for undergraduate students.
• Recipients must not have an NP grade in any required courses related to Chapel, Christian Service, or similar areas, if applicable.
• Recipients must abide by all university policies.
• Recipients must provide annual verification of their parent(s)’ full-time missionary service with OA or World Olivet Assembly.
• Recipients must remain actively involved in OA churches or World Olivet Assembly mission work.
• Recipients must continue to demonstrate financial need.

Federal or State Guaranteed Financial Aid Programs

Hesed University does not participate in any federal or state financial aid program at this time.
