Credit Hour
Classroom Instruction
One hour of classroom or direct faculty instruction combined with a minimum of two hours of out-of-class student work each week, over approximately 15 weeks, corresponds to one quarter hour of credit, or an equivalent amount of work over a different timeframe.
Equivalent Academic Activities
An equivalent amount of work applies to other academic activities such as laboratory work, internships, practica, studio work, or other academically rigorous activities leading to the award of credit hours.
This definition provides a numerical framework for determining credit hours. Faculty members are responsible for designing course requirements that meet these standards while aligning with the academic rigor and institutional policies of Hesed University.
