Bachelor of Science in Architecture (Major)

The Bachelor of Science in Architecture at Hesed University is a four-year undergraduate program designed to prepare men and women for ministry through a professional education in architecture. With a focus on addressing the unique challenges of the developing world, the program integrates biblical studies, general education, mathematics, and science with advanced architectural practice. Students are equipped to apply a biblical worldview and creative problem-solving to complex design challenges, fostering skills that serve churches, mission centers, and communities. This program reflects Hesed University’s mission to glorify God through the transformative power of art and architecture.

◼ Program Goals
Aligned with Hesed University’s mission, the Bachelor of Science in Architecture program equips students to:

  • Apply Foundational Principles: Integrate principles of art, science, and architectural engineering to identify, formulate, and solve complex architectural challenges.
  • Utilize Modern Tools: Employ advanced techniques, skills, and contemporary architectural tools essential for professional practice.
  • Design with Contextual Awareness: Develop civil infrastructure systems that thoughtfully address economic, social, political, ethical, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct and Interpret Research: Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and derive meaningful conclusions to support architectural innovation.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Effectively contribute to and lead multidisciplinary teams in solving diverse design and engineering problems.
  • Communicate with Clarity: Present ideas and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, bridging gaps in understanding.
  • Consider Global Impacts: Recognize and evaluate the global, economic, environmental, and societal implications of architectural solutions.

◼ Graduation Requirements
To graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.S. in Architecture), undergraduate students must fulfill the following requirements:

Complete a total of 122 semester credit hours, including:

  • Complete a total of 122 semester credit hours, including:
  • 45 semester credit hours of General Education
