Incomplete Grade
The grade of “I” is given when a student is unable to complete course requirements by the end of the term
under acceptable circumstances. The incomplete work must be completed according to university policy.

A grade of “W” indicates that a student officially withdrew from a course by following the proper procedures
and deadlines. The “W” does not carry credit and is not included in GPA calculation.
Audit Grade
An “AU” grade is given when a student attends a course without earning credit. The audit grade has no credit
value and is not included in GPA calculation.
Retake Grade
When a student retakes a course for grade improvement, the previous course grade is marked with an “R”.
Only the grade from the retaken course is included in GPA calculation.
Grade Appeal
Students who wish to appeal a grade should follow the procedure below. It is important to begin this process
promptly, as appeals must adhere to specific timeframes.
- Consultation with Faculty Member: Students must first consult with the faculty member before the end of the quarter following the course in which the questioned grade was issued.
- Appeal to the College Dean or Director: If the matter is not resolved, the student may submit a written appeal to the appropriate College Dean or Director.
- Appeal to the Academic Dean: If the outcome remains unsatisfactory, the student may submit a written appeal to the Academic Dean within the designated timeframe.
- Student Responsibility: Throughout the appeals process, the student is responsible for monitoring email and responding in a timely manner.
Class Work
- Submission Deadlines: All class work must be submitted by the deadline set by the professor.
- Late Work Policy: Assignments are not accepted if they are more than two weeks overdue, except under exceptional circumstances approved by the professor.
- Grade Reduction for Late Work: Late submissions may incur grade reductions for each day they are overdue unless otherwise specified by the professor.
